Here’s what happens from the first ring to the finished repair, so you know what to expect when your furnace is out.
Step by step
-
You call (719) 670-8043
Tell us what’s going on — no heat, cold air, a noise, an AC that won’t cool — and your ZIP code. We’ll ask what kind of system you have and roughly how old it is, if you know. If you mention a gas smell or a carbon monoxide alarm, we’ll stop and tell you to get outside and call 911 or the gas company. That isn’t a repair call yet.
-
We schedule the visit
We set a time for a technician to come out. Tell us if you’re without heat in freezing weather, or if someone at home is elderly, an infant or medically fragile, so we know how urgent it is.
-
Before the technician arrives
Clear a path to the furnace, put pets somewhere safe, and note the blink pattern on the control board light if there is one. If the filter is obviously clogged, swapping it now won’t hurt — sometimes it’s the whole problem.
-
Diagnosis
The technician asks what you noticed, checks the thermostat and filter, then works through the system’s startup sequence and safety controls until they find what failed — and why. On gas equipment that includes the venting. In Pueblo, it also means making sure parts and settings match the furnace’s high-altitude setup.
-
The price, and your decision
Before any repair, you hear what failed, what it takes to fix it, and what it costs. The decision is yours. If the equipment isn’t safe to run — a cracked heat exchanger, for example — the technician will tell you plainly.
-
Repair and test
After the repair, the system runs through a full cycle to confirm it lights, heats (or cools) and shuts off the way it should.
-
If replacement makes more sense
When a furnace is unsafe or not worth repairing, you’ll get the reasons and the options. A replacement in Pueblo involves a mechanical permit, altitude setup and Colorado’s carbon monoxide alarm rule — here’s what that looks like.
What we don’t do
- Handle gas leaks or CO emergencies. Those go to 911 and the gas company — Xcel Energy at 1-800-895-2999 inside the city, or the number on your bill. We’ll repair the furnace once the house is safe.
- Quote prices for repairs nobody has diagnosed. The same symptom can have very different causes. What drives the cost explains why.
- Work outside Pueblo and Pueblo West. Every Pueblo ZIP code and Pueblo West — that’s our area.
